K Lakshman Kumar elected as BAR Council Member
Karimnagar: Kasiganti Lakshman Kumar, who hails from Muthyampet village of Jagitial district had been elected as BAR council member which had been formed newly after the formation of Telangana State.
During his college days, K Lakshman Kumar participated actively in the politics and was the president of the Nizam College where he studied. He took up Law as profession in the year 1989 and is continuing as the member of Bar Council from 1995 onwards. He had been elected as Bar Council Member for fifth consecutive time.
It is to be noted that elections for Bar Council members held on June 29 across the State after the formation of Special Bar Council in Telangana State. About 86 members contested in the elections for 25 posts in Bar Council.
The counting process is going on the basis of elimination process from July 23. By Thursday evening after counting the votes about nine members had been declared as winners. Kasiganti Lakshman Kumar was one among them who had been elected as Bar Council Member.
Out of 86 candidates who contested in elections 26 members are left in the arena after declaration of nine members for remaining 16 posts. The candidature of 50 members who contested in the elections had been removed for not having the majority.
After completing the process of voting, the elected members of the Bar Council will further elect Chairman and Vice-chairman and the tenure will be for 2 years.
The Karimnagar Bar Association congratulated K Lakshman Kumar for being elected as Bar Council Member which was formed newly in the Telangana State.
