Congress, BJP women leaders cry foul over govt silence

Yadagirigutta: Tension prevailed at Yadagirigutta during the tour of Congress and BJP top level leaders over human trafficking in temple town on Monday.

Congress women wing national general secretary Seethakka stated that the State government should be ashamed shame over it’s blindness to human trafficking in Yadagirigutta.

Speaking to media, she expressed her concern over the mute spectator role of local woman MLA Gongidi Sunitha on human trafficking. “MLA Sunitha is more interested in kickbacks than women and girls’ safety in her constituency,” she said.

She demanded the government to constitute special task force to protect the innocent girls from quacks and anti-social elements. She further demanded the state government to close all brothel houses in the State and take stringent action against rogues who play with the lives of girls and women.

She expressed her shock over the behavior of the ruling party ministers, MLAs and even MP Kavtha for not responding on human trafficking in Yadgairigutta. While Congress women cell state secretary Kalpana, Party Aler constituency in charge G Varalaxmi and others were present on the occasion. 

Meanwhile, BJP Mahila Morcha state president Akula Vijaya and G. Vijaya Laxmi expressed their concern over human trafficking and tension prevailed in the town when saffron women wing took out a huge rally against the government’s irresponsibility at the historical place. Police arrested the women leaders to control the situation and scuffle took place between the protestors and the police.
