KCR bereaved, cuts short Delhi visit
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao wound up his Delhi visit abruptly as his elder sister Leelamma passed away due to age-related ailments while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Monday. Leelamma was a native of Padira village of Yellareddypet mandal in Sircilla district and left behind husband Shankar Rao and two sons Kantha Rao and Madhusudhan Rao.
Chandrashekar Rao, who was in Delhi on official visit, returned to Hyderabad immediately to attend the last rites of his sister. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief went to Delhi on Friday to get the Centre's clearances on all pending State-related issues including bifurcation of the High Court and approval for new zonal system.
Chandrashekar Rao already met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought his intervention for the clearance of all pending issues. He was also supposed to meet important Union Ministers including Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitely and others to speed up the process for clearances. Chandrashekar Rao planned to stay in Delhi for at least one week.
He returned to the city in the afternoon and paid homage to his sister at the latter’s residence in Hyderabad. Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao and TRS MP K Kavitha were also present.
