TRS govt farmer-friendly, says R&B Minister
Khammam: The credit of introduction of several welfare schemes for the betterment of farmers and farming sector in the State goes to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, said Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao here on Monday.
The Minister launched the Rythu Bima scheme and distributed the bonds to the farmers who enrolled in the scheme here at Kusumanchy mandal headquarters and Muddulapali village of Khammam rural mandal. The minister also paid tribute to the portrait of Prof. Jayashankar on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, the R&B Minister said as a respect for Prof. Jayashankar, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had launched the RBS scheme to give insurance to farmers.
To solve the problems of the farmers, CM KCR first focused on the problem of power supply and took initiation for supplying of uninterrupted 24-hour power supply and implemented it successfully across the State along with construction of godowns in every mandal with investing Rs.12,000 crore for storing the produced grains.
The government had made elaborate arrangements for supply seeds on subsidized rate along with sanctioning Rs. 8,000 per acre for two crops by introducing Rythu Bandhu Scheme. The government is always striving hard for betterment and well-being of farmers across the State. All the farmers who are in the age group of 18 to 59 years are eligible for Rythu Bima scheme.
The government invested Rs.630 crore for implementation of Rythu Bima scheme for around 27 lakh farmers in the State. If any farmer dies unexpectedly, his family members can claim the insurance amount under Rythu Bima scheme, he added.
District Collector DS Lokesh Kumar, Zilla Parishad chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, State Industries Development Corporation chairman Budan Baig, district convenor of Farmers’ Coordination Committee Nallamalla Venkateshwarlu, FCC committee member J Ravi Kumar, ATMA chairman Maddi Malla Reddy, ZP Chief Executive Officer M Nagesh and District Agriculture Officer Jhansi Lakshmi Kumari among others were present on the occasion.
