BJP claims credit for NCBC

Hanamkonda: Constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) will be termed as one of the watershed moments in the history of the country, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Warangal Urban district president Rao Padma Amarender Reddy said here on Tuesday, referring to the passing of the Constitution (123rd Amendment) Bill 2017, which provides constitutional status to the NCBC. 

Terming the Bill as historical, she hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making it possible. “Constitutional status to NCBC will certainly boost the morale of the backward classes,” Padma said. She expressed confidence that the NCBC, which is aimed at protecting the interests of the backward classes would do wonders. 

“The development indicates that the BJP government has been working for the upliftment of the backward classes,” she said, pointing to the party functionaries’ endeavours to get the bill passed in the Parliament in spite of all obstacles thrown by the Opposition parties. Commemorating the occasion, the BJP leaders performed palabhishekam (milk bath) to Modi’s flexi.
