Experts stress on importance of converting waste into energy

Mahbubnagar: Speakers at International Conference on ‘Sustainable Chemistry for Future’ at Palamuru University have stressed the importance of converting waste into reusable resources. Such an exercise will serve the purpose of protecting environment. 

Dr Davide Dionisi, senior lecturer in Chemical Engineering from University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom, stressed the importance of conversion of waste into renewable energy.      

Another speaker Prof. K Sambashiva Rao, from Department of Chemistry, IIT Bombay, deliberated on the topic of  green reagent in organic synthesis; particularly diels-alder reactions.

Prof. Ch Subrahmanyam from IIT Hyderabad spoke about rational design of palladium-Nano catalysts for C-C coupling reactions. Another foreign dignitary Prof Laurence M Harwood from University of Reading, UK, discussed various important issues pertaining to chemistry and discussed on the topic of separation of Actinides from Lanthanides-Solution phase versus Immobilized Ligand and the Importance of Separation.  

Overall all the second day of the international conference witnessed two leading speakers from India and two from UK speak on various topics of vital importance to the human kind that enables a sustainable future. 

Prof NY S Murthy, Convener of the conference, organising secretary of the conference Dr Chandrakiran, Dr Vijaylaxmi- Vice- principal, Dr N.Kumaraswamy, PRO-PU, Sridhar Reddy, Rammohan, Ayesha Hashmi, Upendar, Malathi, Ravi Kumar, Siddiram Goud, Jyothi    and 300 researchers, students have attended.
