Celebrate Independence Day as a festival: Joint Collector Bhadri Srinivas

Karimnagar: The district officials were directed to make elaborate arrangements for celebrating Independence Day at Parade Grounds in Karimnagar, since Finance Minister E Rajender, the chief guest, will hoist the national flag on the day.

Joint Collector Bhadri Srinivas discussed about the arrangements to be made on August 15, with the officials of various departments at a review meeting at the Collectorate conference hall here on Wednesday.

The JC said Independence Day should be celebrated in every village and government office like a festival. The education department officials and staff were told to organise cultural programmes with students, signifying national integrity. The JC ordered the officials to arrange fresh drinking water and temporary toilets facilities for the public and to avoid disturbances caused by mike sets. 

“Design Tableaux of various departments, displaying developmental and welfare activities launched by the State government. Also ensure that the unique programme ‘Kanti Velugu’ will be launched on a grand note,” he told.

District Revenue Officer Ayesha Masrath Khanam, District and Rural Development Officer Venkateshwar Rao, Rural Development Officer Raja Goud, Chennaiah, Horticulture Deputy Director Srinivas, Adult Education Department Deputy Director Jaya Shankar, Chief Planning Officer Uma Maheshwar, Deputy Director of Information Department Venkateshwar Rao and District Welfare officer Sharada were present.
