World Bank economist promises funds to Chilkur
Chilkur (Suryapet): World Bank economist Kunder Singh visited Chilkur village of Suryapet district and reviewed the status of agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry schemes implemented through World Bank funds.
Singh on Thursday interacted with peoples’ representatives, farmers, members of milk societies and officials concerned during a meeting held on the premises of gram panchayat office.
Speaking on this occasion, Kunder Singh informed that several development activities were taken up with World Bank funds. He said chilkur has become a role model for other villages with regard to successful implementation of animal husbandry schemes.
During the interaction, he inquired about the cattle population in the village, average number of cattle that each household has, production of milk and functioning of milk collection centres.
Farmers informed that every household had three to four cattle and in an average, a farmer sells 4 to 5 litres of milk to procuring centres. They expressed their pleasure over successful implementation of cattle welfare scheme.
The official appreciated the animal husbandry officials for successful implementation of schemes in the village. He informed that he would submit his observations to NABARD to get special funds to the village.
State Project Monitoring official Sridhar, Agriculture Special Officer Koteshwar Rao, MPP Nagendra Babu, APD Dr Pentaiah, DLDA Director Kasturi Narsaiah, MPTC P Srinivas Yadav, Sarpanch Venkateshwarlu, APO Nirmala and farmers took part in the programme.
