Modi's time up: Rahul Gandhi
Hyderabad: The AICC president Rahul Gandhi exuded confidence that the Modi Amit Shah Jodi will not succeed in coming back to power in 2019. In an informal interaction with Editors of various media houses, Rahul said the countdown for Modi has begun and he has committed more mistakes than what the Congress government had done in 10 years of its rule.
He said Modi would require 230 votes to come back to power. He said Shiv Sena and other parties are opposed to BJP. In UP there are 86 seats and in Bihar, there are 40 seats. He said with BSP SP and Congress coming together in North, the fate of Modi was sealed.
As far as Telangana was concerned, he said the party was not so united so far but as the elections draw nearer, all will work in unison. Replying to question by The Hans India, he agreed that the party could not corner the government effectively all these years but now the leaders were fully geared up to meet the challenge and defeat the TRS. As far as Andhra Pradesh is concerned Rahul said the Congress would only improve its position but cannot give a tough fight.
The AICC president said that once the Congress party comes to power at centre and in Telangana, they would they would lay focus on increase in health care and job creation. He said the Congress will also bring petrol and diesel under GST and will have only one slab. He said this was not a difficult task. But the problem is that Modi refuses to listen to Economists. Rahul said he, on the other hand, wants to get enlightened by interacting with experts and implement their suggestions.
On whether he was aspiring to become the Prime Minister, he said that issue would be decided after the elections. First priority is to defeat the BJP, he added.
