SP stresses need to curb sexual abuse of children
Mahbubnagar: With an aim to bring more awareness and eradicate the growing sexual abuse on children in the society, the Mahbubnagar district police on Monday brought out a book called ‘My Body,’ with the help of World Vision organisation.
The book was released by B Anuradha, Superintendent of Police Mahbubnagar on Monday. While speaking on the occasion, the SP said there was a need to increase awareness about sexual abuse against children.
“Sexual abuse against children is a serious issue that our society should tackle. It is in fact a big concern of present-day society and it needs to be eradicated from the root. For this we need to create more awareness and regular education among the children and parents, so that they can understand and stay alert from those who are perpetrators of such crimes in the society,” said the SP.
As part of creating awareness among the children, , the police was planning to distribute the book to all the schools and sensitise the students, school managements, teachers and parents over the seriousness of the issue.
Later, the SP congratulated senior head constable and Public Relations Officer of police department Rangineni and others on receiving Red Cross Society Seva Award. “Human life is the greatest gifts given to us by God. And it is we who have to utilise this life wisely to help others and show humanity so that the future generations can live peacefully and harmoniously,” she said.
