Fight fissiparous tendencies: Congress to activists
Khammam: District Congress leaders organised Independence Day celebrations at Sanjeeva Reddy Bhavan here on Wednesday. District Congress Committee district unit former president Banothu Somla Naik hoisted the national flag and paid tributes to freedom fighters.
Speaking on the occasion, Somla Naik said the Congress had fought and secured freed for India. The Congress party under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi fought against the British and got freedom to the country.
He ridiculed the BJP party for trying to project itself as the champion of freedom. He said the BJP had not at all participated in the freedom struggle. He exhorted the party activists to wage a fight against fissiparous tendencies.
Congress party leaders Md Fazal, Vaddeboina Narasimha Rao, P Durga Prasad, Md. Tajuddin, Sathyanarayana, Ashok, Md. Gouse, Krishna Naik, Akeem, Venkatrao, Gaddam Venkataiah,, Saiduly Naik, Vekataiah, Naresh, Chandrashekar, Y Srinivas, Raju Naik, Chota Baba and Babu Rao were present at the programme.
