Prevent outbreak of seasonal diseases: CPM to DMO

Khammam: Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) district unit leader Yerra Srinivas here on Tuesday demanded that the government provide medical care to the poor in three town area. The labourers and the poor are suffering from seasonal diseases, he said.

The CPI-M three town committee members submitted a memorandum to District Medical and Health Officer Kondal Rao in this regard here.
Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas said a large number of labourers and poor in Sundarayyanagar, Pumpingwell Road, Prakashnagar, Motinagar, Manchikantinagar, Venkateshwarnagar, Jublipura in the city.

Unhygienic conditions caused the spread of diseases like dengue, malaria and viral fevers. Heavy rains led to worsening of the situation. He demanded that the government declare health emergency and provide medical aid to the people suffering diseases by setting special medical camps.

District Medical and Health Officers, in response to the appeal by the CPI-M, directed health officials to form medical teams to provide medical care to people suffering from seasonal diseases. CPI-M leaders T Lingaiah, B Yakaiah, V Srinivas Rao, V Nageswar Rao, Y Nagesh and K Gopal were present at the programme.
