Religious harmony comes to fore on Independence Day

Hyderabad: The Muslims across Hyderabad celebrated the 72nd Independence Day celebrations with pomp and gaiety by taking active part in the hoisting flags at major junctions, localities, besides Madarsas and educational institutions. 

Hyderabad MP and MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi hoisted the national flag in front of Mohammed Cap Mart at Medina Circle in Old City, along with local leaders and party activists. The MIM MLAs and area corporators also took part in Independence Day celebrations, while some took out rallies in their respectively areas. 

Meanwhile, in King Koti, the H E H the Nizam VII Khanazadan Association Hyderabad have hoisted the National Flag at different places at Sher Gate, Khanazad Colony, Near Nawab Yousuf Ali Shaheed Marg, King Koti, Near Jama Masjid Opposite Parda gate and at office of the H E H Nawab Hyder Ali, president of the Association informed that members of Association and senior leaders were present. 

At all the places local public and college, school students and children of the locality attended in huge numbers and celebrated with fanfare.  Madarsa students from areas like Talab Katta, Edi Bazar and various other localities took active part on the occasion. Wearing colourful costumes, the students of Madarsa Arabia Zunnoorien, Bhavani Nagar, Talab Katta grabbed the eyes of passersby, while at other places the Madarsas invited officials. 

Md Ghouse Mohiuddin, Additional DCP South Zone, attended the programme organised by Madarsa-e-Islamia Shouket-ul-Uloom at Edi Bazar. The Shia Ulama at Noorkhan Bazar led by Maulana Ali Hyder Farista along with his associates unfurled the national flag, which was organised by Majma E Ulama- o-Khutaba in the Old City.

In Begumpet, the Spanish Mosque “opened its door for all” on the occasion of Independence Day, where hundreds visited, including former Minister, Marri Shashidhar Reddy and Anuradha Reddy of Intach. Called as Jam e Masjid Aiwan-e-Begumpet, it opened its doors to people of all communities. A 'Visit My Mosque' programme was organised by the Spanish Mosque at Paigah Palace. 

Hundreds of people from the non-Muslims citizenry, including politicians, intellectuals, bureaucrats and youngsters took the opportunity to visit the mosque on this special occasion, said the organisers. Meanwhile at TDP office in Old City in Kotla Alijah in Charminar, the national flag was hoisted by TDP State vice-president and Hyderabad Parliament Constituency Incharge, Ali Bin Ibrahim Masqati.
