National Institute of Technology-Warangal convocation tomorrow

Warangal: The XVI convocation of the National Institute of Technology (NIT-Warangal) will be held at its campus auditorium here on Saturday (August 18) at 2.30 pm.

Eminent academician and scientist Prof Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Science & Technology, and Institute Chair Professor, IIT Kanpur, will be the chief guest of this convocation.

A total of 1,444 candidates will be awarded their degrees in the convocation. Out of which 58 are Ph D degree awardees, 614 are M Tech and other postgraduates and 772 are B Tech.

In each branch of Engineering, topper of the B Tech class will be awarded Roll of Honour Gold Medal and the topper of all branches put together is awarded Institute Gold Medal, the NIT officials said. In the convocation every student will be presented his/her Degree certificate by the Director of the Institute.
