Monitoring officers to help prevent losses due to rains

Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Monday issued appointment orders of monitoring officers for 21 mandals in the district for taking necessary steps before hand to prevent the loss that may occur due to heavy rains that are witnessed in the district since past four days.

The District Collector appointed Revenue divisional officers, mandal tahsildars and mandal parishad officials as special monitoring officers to the respective mandals and directed them to take all necessary steps for preventing the loss and spread of viral and other seasonal diseases like dengue, chikungunya and malaraia in the respective mandals along with convey up to date information to the district administration.

The Collector also directed officials to shift the people of low lying areas to safer places besides providing all necessary basic facilities by establishing rehabilitation centres.
