LIC bonds distributed among 38,500 farmers

Asifabad: Responding to a query by the District Collector, Prashant Jeevan Patil, about Rythu Bima Scheme, the officials of agricultural department explained that of the 40,269 Insurance Bands, 38,500 have been distributed among the farmers in 412 villages. Another 1,769 bonds have to be distributed, they added. 

The Collector was reviewing the implementation of Rythu Bima, Harita Haram, survey of forest lands and LRUP among other things at a meeting at the Collectorate here on Tuesday. 

Under the Rythu Bandhu group insurance scheme, 72,597 farmers, who received input subsidy cheques, have been provided insurance cover against the targeted 85,542. The Collector directed the agricultural department AD to provide insurance cover to the remaining 12,945 farmers within a week.

Stating that 56,14,870 plants were planted so far against the target of 72 lakh in the district, Patil asked the officials to plant saplings to reach the target and to geotag the planted saplings.

The Collector reviewed mandal-wise forest lands survey with tahsildars and forest officials and said that a report on forest lands survey will be submitted within a week. 

As far as LRUP is concerned, 546 out of the 901 applications received have been disposed of. Divisional forest officer Lakshman Ranjit Naik, agriculture director Bhagya Lakshmi, DRO Kadam Suresh, RDO Ramesh Babu, tahsildars, officials of forest and agricultural departments, AOs and others attended the meeting.
