Progressive Organisation for Women demands speedy DNA tests on rescued girls

Yadagirigutta: Progressive Organisation for Women State President Sandhya regretted that the government had failed to curb prostitution. The POW president along with along with Virasam Writers’ Forum members visited Yadagrigutta on Wednesday. She visited Ganeshnagar where the police sealed some houses on the charge of organising brothels in them. She also interacted with the reformed women. 

She appreciated Rachakonda police for organising raids on brothels and rescuing girls, besides arrested brothel owners. She stated that many missing cases of girls and women were registered in police stations across the State. She demanded that government speed up the DNA tests and handover the rescued girls to their respective parents.

She appealed to the government to prepare a comprehensive plan to provide employment to those rescued from the brothels. Sandhya along with other leaders interacted with A V P Srinivas Charyulu and local Circle Inspector Ashok Kumar.
