KCR raises high hopes, to highlight myriad schemes
Hyderabad: The mammoth public meeting – Pragati Nivedana Sabha - to be addressed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on September 2, is all set to highlight his government's endeavour in promoting the State as ‘Golden Telangana’ by strengthening Irrigation, Agriculture and Energy sectors with statistical analysis and maps. The Chief Minister will make a presentation on three important issues on giant screens at the public meeting.
The department officials were already instructed to prepare reports with PowerPoint Presentations, sources said adding that Chandrashekar Rao would use slides during the presentation. His government’s efforts in securing all permissions to construct Kaleshwaram, one of the biggest lift irrigation projects in the country, the hurdles created by Opposition parties, several new schemes to strengthen agriculture including Rythu Bima and Rs 4,000 per acre crop incentive scheme and the establishment of thermal power plants with nearly 10,000 MW installed capacity in the public sector and the supply of round-the-clock power to farming sector will be highlighted in the presentation.
The completion of long pending projects on river Krishna, mainly modernisation of Nagarjunasagar project, Kalwakurthy, Nettempadu, Bheema, Bhakta Ramadasu Lift Irrigation Project and the Alimineti Madhava Reddy Lift Irrigation Project to fetch the drinking water and irrigation needs in the drought-hit Nalgonda district will be explained in the presentation. “KCR will explain district wise irrigation projects redesigned by his government and its status and benefits being enjoyed by the farmers,” a senior leader said.
The increase of ayacut after the formation of Telangana, the government’s success in addressing fertilizers, seeds and other inputs scarcity at the time of farming season, supply of tractors for agriculture needs and promotion of mechanization of the farming will take a centre stage in Chandrashekar Rao’s address. The Chief Minister will give a detailed picture on the transformation of State from stage of shortage of power to power surplus State in the last four years and round-the-clock power supply to domestic, industry and agriculture sectors and its positive effect on the State’s growth.
Source said the Chief Minister was studying every issue pertaining to the development of Telangana during his four-year dispensation. His government’s efforts in realising the dreams of people in the new State of Telangana through various measures including several welfare schemes like pension, housing, establishment of residential educational institutions for BC, SC, ST and minority communities, strengthening of local bodies and development of municipalities will also figure in the presentation. Sources said Ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs and TRS leaders were asked to make suggestions to make the meeting a grand success to be attended by 25 lakh people from across the State.
