The meeting was attended by TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader K Jana Reddy, opposition leader in Legislative Council Mohd Ali Shabbir and others. Leaders said that the party had already decided to resume the bus yatra in September. If the State witnessed early polls, the party would have to cancel the yatra and prepare a fresh political strategy which includes finalisation of candidates, preparation of the election manifesto and the constitution of election campaign committees.

The Congress plan of formation of Mahakutami (Grand Alliance) involving all anti-TRS parties was also discussed in the meeting. The TPCC already convened a meeting on Tuesday inviting all DCC presidents, AICC secretaries and State party executive to discuss the political developments taking place in the State. The meeting would also be attended by senior leaders S Jaipal Reddy, Madhu Yashki Goud, Renuka Choudary etc.

Leaders said that the party would chalk out an action plan for early polls in the State-level meeting. The TPCC  already shortlisted the candidates to be fielded in the Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies in the next elections. The candidates will be finalised in a phased manner depending on the local political developments.
