Mega dairy to come up in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: The Karimnagar Milk Producers Company (KMPC) is setting up a mega dairy plant with a capacity of processing three lakh litres milk a day at Nallagonda under Thimmapur mandal.

The project was approved by an Inter-Ministerial group under the chairmanship of Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal in Delhi.  The Government of India will provide financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana.  

The project will involve an investment of Rs 63 crore and will benefit 75,000 farmers who are members of the Farmer Producer Company.  The project will also generate direct employment to 500 persons.  

The project shall be supported by 15 Bulk Milk Cooling Centres (BMCs) over nearby districts of Rajanna-Sircilla, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Medak, Siddipet, Jangaon as well as Karimnagar, according to the Chairman of the Company, C Rajeshwar Rao.

It’s learnt that KMPC has been working under the guidance of Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar and is poised for exponential growth.  The technical support for the project is being provided by Global AgriSystem Private Limited, Delhi, one of India’s leading agribusiness consultants.
