Hyderabad: Amidst reports of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao going in for early elections to Telangana Assembly, Governor ESL Narasimhan has cancelled his Kurnool district tour to attend Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister B Akhila Priya's marriage on Tuesday. Governor was scheduled to leave for Kurnool on Tuesday afternoon and attend the minister’s marriage on Wednesday morning in Allagadda.

He will now only attend the reception in Hyderabad on September 1. In his first meeting with Governor on Tuesday evening after his New Delhi tour a couple of days ago, KCR is learnt to have told him his preparedness to go in for early elections.

He reportedly informed Narasimhan about his intention to dissolve the state Assembly in the first or second week of September after holding Assembly session for two or three days.

Top sources said that the Chief Minister requested the Governor to stay back in Raj Bhavan on Tuesday and Wednesday as he wanted to meet Narasimhan and discuss his series of meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union ministers during his recent visit to Delhi.

In his one-hour long meeting with the Governor, KCR is understood to have explained to him the pending state issues that he had brought to the notice of the Centre and the Union government’s positive response. He is also understood to have discussed his readiness to hold Cabinet meeting to take a final decision on the dissolution of the Assembly and about the upcoming mammoth public meeting – “Pragati Nivedana Sabha” on September 2.

Source said that KCR also briefed the Governor about his meeting with BJP legislators earlier in the day. The Chief Minister is likely to meet Narasimhan again on Wednesday and update him on the political decisions to be taken by him in the next 24 hours, sources said.
