Harikrishna to be laid to rest with full State honours
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao held a brief meeting with his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu and decided that the last rites of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N Harikrishna will be conducted with full State honours on Thursday.
The Chief Minister paid tributes to Harikrishna at his residence at Mehdipatnam in the city. Chandrashekar Rao laid a wreath on the mortal remains and expressed his condolences. He also consoled the bereaved family members including TDP leader’s sons and actors Junior NTR and Kalyanram. Chandrashekar Rao was seen hugging Junior NTR and consoling the actor.
Chandrashekar Rao met Chandrababu Naidu at the departed leader’s residence and discussed about the arrangements to be made for the funeral of Harikrishna, who was Chandrababu Naidu’s brother-in-law. Chandrashekar Rao instructed officials to make all arrangements and Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav has been entrusted to oversee the preparations for last rites. Chief Secretary S K Joshi was asked to coordinate with all concerned departments for the funeral.
After paying tributes, IT Minister KT Rama Rao said that government is making arrangements for Harikrishna’s funeral with state honours. The Chief Minister extended all kinds of help to the bereaved family, he added. Harikrishna’s wife Shalini rushed to the house along with junior NTR’s wife Laxmi Pranathi soon after the body was brought from Kamineni hospitals from Nalgonda.
The departed leader’s other family members including BJP leader D Purandheshwari and her husband D Venkateshwara Rao and Telangana Ministers Mahamood Ali, G Jagadish Reddy and film actors and directors also paid homage.
