Patil to assume charge today
Warangal: Prashanth Jeevan Patil will assume office as the Collector of Warangal Urban on Thursday, according to a statement released by the district administration here on Wednesday.
It may be mentioned here that the State government on Tuesday transferred and posted Prashant Jeevan Patil, who is the Collector of Komaram Bheem-Asifabad district, as Warangal Urban district Collector in place of Amrapali Kata.
Patil has full knowledge of the region as he had worked as the Joint Collector of undivided Warangal district for about two years. After the creation of new districts, he was made the Collector of Warangal Rural district.
Later, he was transferred to Komaram Bheem-Asifabad district to set the things right in that region following clashes between Adivasis and Lambadas. While working in Asifabad, the government made him the Special Officer for the conduct of Medaram jatara in Bhupalpally district.
During his stint in Warangal, Patil has a fine reputation for carefully handling land acquisition for the textile park and in the implementation of ODF (Open Defecation Free).
Meanwhile, Amrapali Kata has been posted as the Additional Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Wednesday. During her 22-month service as the Urban District Collector, it’s not overstatement to say that Amrapali became youth icon. Apart from being a good administrator, she also frequently hit the headlines with her extracurricular activities such as rock climbing and trekking Bayyaram forest etc.
