CPM protests against fuel price hike

Khammam: Stating that exorbitant prices of petroleum products are directly burdening the people, CPM leaders and activists staged a protest against the Central government in Khammam on Thursday. They burnt an effigy of the BJP government at the Centre and raised slogans against it for increasing fuel prices, in front of agriculture market here.

Speaking on the occasion, CPM leader Yerra Srikanth said the Bharatiya Janata Party after coming to power increased the prices of petrol and diesel more than 10 times and burdening the middle class people across the country.  Not only that, the prices of daily essential commodities and vegetables are also increasing, he pointed out. 

Srikanth demanded that the Central government must cut the prices of petrol, diesel and other commodities immediately and should apply GST to both petrol and diesel. Party leaders T Lingaiah, Yerra Srinivas Rao, Venkat Rao, SK Saidulu, P Nagasulochana, Rangu Hanumantha Chary, Mekala Srinivas Rao, Pasham Satyanarayana, V Nageshwar Rao, M Srinu, M Veeraswamy, SK Qasim, Sheelam Veera Babu and others participated in the protest.
