Renovated Government Ayurvedic Hospital inaugurated at Toopran

Toopran: The renovated 9-beded Government Ayurvedic Hospital was inaugurated by MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, here on Wednesday. The Union Government is planning to upgrade dispensaries and hospitals that are exclusively run by Ayush Department. The Central Government is strengthening institutional capacity at the state level hospitals by upgrading educational institutions, pharmacies, drug testing laboratories and supporting the cultivation of medicinal plants by adopting good agricultural practices. 

In processes of up-grading the Ayurvedic hospitals in terms of facilities, medicines in the country, the National Ayush Mission (NAM) is enabling the Ayurvedic hospitals to renovate themselves with financial assistance. Recently under the NAM, the Government Ayurvedic Hospital at Toopran was renovated with the expenditure Rs 75 lakh. 

Dr Rajender Reddy, Director, Department of Ayush, Telangana State, said the Central government sanctioned Rs 75 lakh under the National Ayush Mission to renovate the dilapidated 9–beded Government Ayurvedic Hospital and also to provide Medicare facilities to the people of the State through Ayurvedic, Unani and Homoeopathy systems of medicine.

He said that this Government Ayurvedic hospital provides services including Pancha Karma Therapy, a world popular clinical management of both acute and chronic diseases and Kshaara Soothra for the treatment of Piles and Fistulae. At present, one Senior Medical Officer, one Medical Officer, two Compounders, two Male Nursing Orderly (MNO) and one ScS are working in this hospital, he added.
