TDP demands white paper on TRS promises, fulfilment

Hanamkonda: Telugu Desam politburo member Revuri Prakash Reddy said that the ruling TRS’ Pragathi Nivedana Sabha is nothing but an effort to hoodwink the people. Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, he said that TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, who said that he has a master plan for the welfare of the farmers, is yet to reveal it.

“It’s been more than four years since he took the reins of the State, however, the TRS government is yet to fulfil its election manifesto. KCR said Telangana will be turned into a seed bowl of the country, but hasn’t yet materialised it,” Reddy said, demanding him release of White Paper about his promises and fulfilments at the Kongara Kalan meeting on September 2.

KCR also forgotten his promise of ensuring minimum support price (MSP) to farmers’ produce, besides facilitating market intervention scheme, a price support mechanism implemented for procurement of perishable and horticultural commodities in the event of a fall in market prices, Reddy said.

Referring to Rythu Bandhu scheme, he said it only helped the landlords leaving the tenant farmers, who constitute a sizable number high and dry.
The crop loan waiver to which the State government claims credit also didn’t help the farmers.

In the name of redesigning of irrigation projects, the TRS government wasted people’s money. It only helped the TRS leaders and contractors, he added. Reddy also found fault with KCR for inviting farmers on tractors to Kongara Kalan meeting.

Senior leaders Bandi Pullaiah, Gattu Prasad Babu, Pulluru Ashok, Jatoth Santhosh Naik, Baba Khader Ali, Hanmakonda Sambaiah, Md Raheem, Margam Sarangam, B Prabhakar, V Srinivas, G Devender Reddy, B Rajesh Naik, Banoth Veeranna, D Sandeep, P Anil, K Jayashankar, K Prabhakar and P Srinivas were among others present.

Earlier, the leaders paid floral tributes to TDP Politburo member and former MP Nandamuri Harikrishna, who died in a road accident on Wednesday. The leaders said Harikrishna was an upright and honest leader.
