Hans, GHMC distribute cloth bags at Erragadda

Erragadda: Continuing the ‘Freedom from Plastic’ campaign,The Hans India along with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) conducted the programme at Vikas Puri Colony, Erragadda here on Friday.  The campaign freedom from plastic is aimed to eradicate single use-plastic for which  The Hans India is distributing cloth bags at various localities in the city. The Hans India team distributed free cloth bags to the residents of Vikas Puri Colony during the campaign. 

Several students from Iris school, colony members and GHMC officials of the ward participated in the campaign. Circulation Manager of the Hans India, Sai Reddy said “Our motive is to eradicate the use of single use plastic.” He also explained the difference between recyclable and non-recyclable plastics to the students of Iris Florets school. GHMC sanitary inspector explained to the residents “Plastic below 50 microns should be avoided at all cost. GHMC along with The Hans India are distributing free cotton bags to ban the use of single use-plastic.”

PRR Roy, president of Vikas Puri Colony welfare society quoted “The initiative of The Hans India is very helpful not only to the people but in sustaining the environment.” “Refuse single use of plastic, reduce the use of plastic, recycle and reuse remaining plastic,” said Y Sudhakar Gupta, Vice President of Vikas Puri Colony. 

Cotton bags were distributed to all the residents of Vikas Puri Colony, and plastic disposal cans were installed in Vikas Puri Colony and neighboring colonies of the area. The participants including GHMC officials, Residents of Vikas Puri Colony, school students and teachers were present during the campaign.
