L B Nagar:  The much-awaited Hyderabad Metro Rail from LB Nagar to Ameerpet line will be thrown open to public by September 15. “Hyderabad Metro Rail’s next stretch for commissioning, 16 km between Ameerpet and LB Nagar will be open soon to public. The safety clearance by Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) for commencing passenger operations could happen once the L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad submits the signalling Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) certificate” said, HMR Managing Director NVS Reddy.

He further added, Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) is checking the test results of different scenarios and analyzing the safety case from different viewpoints before issuing the safety certificate for the CBTC between Ameerpet and L.B. Nagar stretch of corridor 1 (Miyapur- LB Nagar) of 29 km.

The Metro Rail authorities have already obtained all other safety clearance documents pertaining to metro civil structures, tracks, electrical systems, etc., and had submitted them to the CMRS. So, once the signalling ISA certificate is also submitted by L&T MRH, CMRS and the safety team inspects the stretch and permits operation of regular commuter metro trains on this section, he added.

A Balakrishna, DCP HMRL, “The CMRS will be inspecting the section, and ISA Certificate will be given to metro rail from L B Nagar to Miyapur line.” He further added that they were confident after the Ameerpet-LB Nagar line becomes operational, the public at large would choose this comfortable, safe, time-saving and environment-friendly mode of transport to their advantage. About 1.5 lakh passengers were expected to travel on Metro trains on Nagole-Ameerpet-Miyapur corridor.”
