Rs 93.25 crore sanctioned for Special Police Force Battalion
Siddipet: Minister Harish Rao said that the 9th Battalion on Special Police Force of Telangana would be set up, here. An amount of Rs 93.25 crore was sanction for the purpose, he told here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, he said the police Commissionerate and a command control centre have been set up after creating Siddhipet as a district.
As the population has been growing after several development programmes, the security needed to be beefed up, he said. Harish said that the unemployed youth of this region will also get opportunities by setting up the battalion. As much as Rs 54.13 crore would be spent for creating infrastructure, building and procuring vehicles etc., and Rs 39.12 cr be spent for salaries and other expenses, the minister said. Already Akkannapet, Cheryal were inspected to set up the battalion and name of the place will be finalised soon for initiating the works, Harish said.
