Two rooms at Gandhi Hospital to be demolished
Secunderabad: The illegal construction of two rooms beside Sai Baba temple inside Gandhi Hospital is to be demolished soon. The rooms that were constructed fours years ago went unnoticed by the hospital management and in the meanwhile, the rooms have been used by one of the medical store owners as a store room. The hospital is losing revenue said an insider.
“I have no idea about the construction of two rooms. I have instructed the officials to demolish the building. There was no permission given to construct it,” said P Sravan Kumar, superintendent, Gandhi Hospital. The issue came to light recently, when a few media personnel stumbled upon the rooms. A former priest who died two years back was behind the construction, say staff. After his demise, his son, a software engineer said he could not maintain the temple.
In the meanwhile, the owner of a medical store started using one of the two rooms as a store room. As hospital authorities have no idea about it, they use it for free and skip paying rent to the hospital administration. However, Ramesh, an owner of the medical store said, “The former priest’s son decided to appoint a priest for the temple. He demanded Rs 15,000 per month to him as rent for the room. We have been using the room since then.”
