Collector gets a feel of organic farming

Khammam: District Collector RV Karnan inspected the organic farming that were underway with the support of the Agriculture department under Paramparagat and Krishi Vikas Yojana here in Gaigollapalli village of Kusumanchi mandal in Khammam on Wednesday.

After inspecting the vermin compost beds and various ingredients used for the preparation of vermin-compost, the Collector enquired the farmers how much yield could be expected by doing cultivation using organic manures and which type of seeds were used in organic farming along with marketing done for how much cost.

The Collector suggested the farmers to create a whatsapp group along with the members of Farmers Coordination Committees and agriculture officials to know update on various details regarding agriculture sector and to seek solutions to several problems from experts that arise while cultivating various crops.

Later, the Collector interacted with the farmers who lost fields under Sitarama Project and ordered the officials concerned to submit the complete details of the farmers who lost their fields.

District Agriculture Officer Jhansi Lakshmi Kumari, Additional Director B Vani, Officials of the Agriculture department Srinivas Reddy, Aruna Kumari, Jhony, Ravi Teja, Kusumanchi Mandal Tahsildar Krishna, MPDA Vidhyachandana, FCC mandal convenor J Ravi, FCC member V Nageshwar Rao, ZPTC Ramchandra Naik and former sarpanch Mounika were present along with others.
