Update: 2018-09-06 05:30 IST

KPHB colony: The road which connects KPHB to rest of the area is in a shambles and dotted with manholes causing immense trouble to the residents. The manholes at KPHB colony and on the roads at Alluri Trade centre area are in bad conditions; though covered with signboards the residents get shivers to travel on this road as these manholes are wide open posing serious risk to the commuters. The manholes are next to the main road and nobody has made an effort to help the locals and their complaints are yet to be heard by the officials.

Srinivas Bellam, a resident at KPHB colony has been regularly complaining on this issue to the officials and regularly the officials only respond to the complaint but never solved the issue yet. Not once but more than four to five times the person has complained on the manholes in the area to the GHMC officials. This issue was first assigned to KPHB Assistant Engineer Rupa Devi and she could not make it happen, the manholes are still at the road. Later, the residents were told that the issue is closed because of lack of funds, by the officials. Thus, all the complaints were in vain regularly.

Street vendor Rajesh said, “The road had been in bad shape for more than a month now and the locals filed complaints to the GHMC officials, but no proper response came from the GHMC. The vendor further said funds issue is not the reason if people are suffering with these roads and manholes, the official should complete them as soon as possible. After many complaints the Zonal Commissioner, West Zone Harichandana Dasari said, “The complaint is given to the concern official and the deputy commissioner soon the issue of manholes will be solved in the area.”
