Do not neglect eye-related problems

Khammam: Corporator Balagangadar Tilak here on Thursday advised the people not to neglect eyes related problems since of all the sense organs eyes are the most important.

He visited the eye-screening camp that was conducted under Kanti Velugu programme here at the Government Women’s Degree College, Gandhi Chowk in Khammam.

Addressing the gathering, Tilak said neglecting vision related issues may lead to blindness in future and treating them within time will help to regain the vision clearly. 

He urged the officials to conduct screening tests to the people in the Kanti Velugu programme without creating any inconvenience to them. He also asked officials to refer those who need either minor or major operations to the nearby hospitals in the city.

He also urged the officials to educate the people about the care to be taken for protecting their eyes along with how to use the spectacles that are given free of cost under the programme.

He appreciated the representatives of the voluntary organisations  and health workers who are rendering their services for organising the camps successfully. Health officials Ravindernath, Ravi Kumar, Bhadram, Hari Prasad, ASHA workers K Renuka, V Anitha, J Mani, D Lakshi, Durga, M Lakshmi and representatives of voluntary organisations T Nageshwara Rao and K Praveen and others were present on the occasion.
