Private hospitals fleecing people in name of check-ups
Khammam: Some of the private hospitals present in the city are looting the innocent people in name of health checkups and tests even though many of them do not have such facilities, alleged Y Vikram, former Municipal Chairman of Yellandu Municipality, here on Thursday.
He participated as a chief guest at the meeting held with the representatives of the Lambadi Hakkula Porata Samiti- Nangara Bheri here in Khammam.
Speaking on the occasion, Y Vikram said people are panicked over the alarming rate with which seasonal diseases are spreading in the district and are rushing to the hospitals for medical checkups.
But, some of the private hospitals even though they do not have proper equipment for the medical checking ups are robbing the people in the name of tests, he added.
The public representatives and health officials are not in a mood to take measures to prevent the seasonal and viral diseases which are spreading at an alarming rate in the district, he added.
The District Collector must take initiatives and issue orders to concern officials to conduct special medical drive in the areas where more number of people are suffering with viral diseases, especially dengue and conduct special medical camps there, he urged.
He also urged the Collector to conduct special cleanliness drive in the villages for preventing the spread of vector-borne diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya.
The representatives of the LHPS-Nangara Bheri, Bhadru Naik, Ganesh, Salim, Bhaskar, Ramesh Naik, Nagesh and B Mohan Naik were present on the occasion.
