Restaurants eating away roads leaving no space for commuters at Tolichowki

Tolichowki: The wide roads of Tolichowki are clogged every evening as the customers of the chain of restaurants are forced to park their vehicles on road. With no parking space offered by the roadside eateries which occupy one third of road space turn the area into a bottleneck junction.  There are several eateries including multi-cuisine restaurants like Shah Ghouse, Shezaade, Al Zaara and Mandar which offer no parking space and road space is being occupied by motorcycles arranged in four columns and numerous cars.

“Restaurants eat up most of the space, there is hardly any space left for hassle-free traffic movement,” said Moin, a commuter who travels from Mehdipatnam to Gachibowli for work. The hotel managements have no clue on how to handle parking space. They have allotted security guards who allow maximum accessibility to the vehicles favoring the restaurants and not caring about the traffic jams. Counter man of Shezaade hotel said “People who visit here, spend longer time than they are intended to while spending their time in having inconsequential conversations. Which is indeed leading to traffic problem, which we cannot help.”

Tolichowki traffic police Station House Officer, Shiva Chandra said, “We are tired of conducting counselling sessions with hotel managements, we have made it mandatory  for them to have security guards, cases on restaurants have been booked under 402  of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) act.”
