Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) chief Prof Kodandaram on Thursday sought imposition of President Rule in Telangana. He stated that it was not proper to allow K Chandrashekar Rao to continue as Caretaker Chief Minister and appealed to Governor ESL Narasimhan to remove him.

Kodandaram said that TJS delegation would meet Governor to submit a memorandum in this regard. He was addressing a press conference to share his reaction to K Chandrashekar Rao’s decision to dissolve Assembly and go for an early election.

TJS chief challenged K Chandrashekar Rao to give up the Chief Minister post and enter the poll battle. He had several times in the past misused official machinery, the retired professor said. Kodandaram felt Rao proved his ineffectiveness and inability to hold the Chief Ministerial post by dissolving Assembly much ahead of its scheduled five-year period. “No Chief Minister giving good governance to citizens would take such a step," he said.

Kodandaram said, ‘the dissolution of assembly letter will prove to be a death sentence to K Chandrashekar Rao.” Kodandaram said it was time all hands join and work together for a new beginning and also to end TRS' ineffective rule.

“TRS Chief failed to construct even a memorial for Telangana martyrs who sacrificed their life for statehood cause. Despite getting approval for new Zonal system, he failed to issue new job notifications," Kodandaram added.
