Akbaruddin Owaisi wants to do HDK in Telangana

Hyderabad: Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Friday said that his party would stake claim to form government in case the poll verdict throws up a hung Assembly. Addressing a meeting of the party activists in Hyderabad, Akbaruddin Owaisi said in such an event, “we will invite others to support us to form the government. If Kumaraswamy (HD Kumaraswamy of JDS) can become (chief minister) why can’t I become one,” he asked.

It Karnataka JDS with 40 seats formed the government with support from the Congress as the verdict was a fractured one. Akbaruddin said that KCR has announced that there will be elections in November and he would become chief minister in December.  “Let us see who will become the chief minister. After the results, we may get an opportunity. Then we will ask other likeminded parties to support us to form the government,” he said.
