Trouble brewing for TRS in Nalgonda
Nalgonda: Majority of TRS MLA candidates in erstwhile Nalgonda district are facing tough time in their respective constituencies because of the dissident groups. At the same time the pending announcement of Huzurnagar constituency candidate also creating ripples in the pink party.
Of the 12 Assembly segments in the erstwhile Nalgonda district, except Huzurnagar and Kodad, party supremo KCR has declared party tickets to all eight sitting MLAs and party Nalgonda and Nagarjuna Sagar constituency incharges for the upcoming Assembly elections.
On the other hand, out of 12 Assembly segments, except Aler, Bhongir and Kodad, TRS candidates are facing ire of dissident groups in the nine Assembly constituencies.
Party’s second rung leaders opined that if TRS’ MLA candidates failed to address the dissidence issues before the election notification, it would hamper their winning chances in the elections.
Of the nine troublesome constituencies, anger of dissidence groups came to light with regard to Tungaturhi and Huzurnagar constituencies on Friday very next day of the announcement of party MLA candidates.
In 2014 elections, Gadahari Kishore, a resident of Nalgonda town, got the TRS MLA ticket under OU student quota from Tunagaturthi SC reserved constituency and won the election with slim margin.
Later, one of the MLA aspirants, local leader Mandula Samuel, was honoured with nominated post of the chairman of the State Warehousing Corporation.
Along with Samuel, another local leader, Telangana Jagurthi state leader Rajiv Sagar has also been eying the Tunagaturhi constituency since last two years and working for that.
Since the formation of Suryapet district in 2016, local dissident leaders started chanting slogan of local mantra for the next elections to avoid outsider Gadhari Kishore but their slogans could not impress upon the senior leadership as party chose sitting MLA Gadari Kishore as its candidate.
Meanwhile, expressing their anger over the KCR’s decision over the announcement of candidature of Kishore, dissident group leaders including as many as 20 former sarpaches, 2 ZPTCs, 15 MPTCs under the leadership of Tirumalagiri Market Committee chairman Vijaya Yadav and party farmer wing state leader Shyamala Sudhrashan Reddy convened a meeting at Tirumalgiri and openly condemned the Gadhari Kishore’s candidature from Tunagaturthi constituency.
Also, supporters of Mandula Samule staged a protest at Tirumalagiri mandal and raised slogans against Gadhari Kishore. Meanwhile, supporters of TRS Huzurnagar constituency incharge Shanakaramma, who is mother of Telangana martyr Srinkath Chary, staged dharna at LB Nagar, where Srikanth Chary immolated himself for the separate State Telangana.
They demanded announcement of Shankaramma’s candidature from Huzurnagar constituency, who contested as party MLA candidate against Uttam Kumar Reddy in 2014 elections as per KCR direction and being continued as party constituency incharge after her defeat.
Two of the protestors also climbed the radio station tower in favour of Shankaramma and threatened to commit suicide and demanded party chief to issue party MLA ticket from Huzurnagar constituency immediately.
