75-ft Shesha Vastrams for Ganesha
Bhoodan Pochampally (Yadadri- Bhongir): Showing their skill and spirituality, the weavers of Pochampally weaved Shesha Vastrams for Hyderabad’s famous Khairatabad and Balapur Ganesh idols.
Weavers prepared the two 75-feet Shesha Vastrams at the looms located at the textile park, Anumukula of Pochamapally mandal in the district. It took one month the weavers to weave the Vastrams.
The colour of the cloth is saffron and the border has the design of Shivalingam, Om, Swastik, Bow, Cobra, Ganpathi, Undrallu, kalasham, Shanku and Chakram etc. The Vastrams were displayed at the handloom park on Monday.
Park director K Devender speaking to the media informed that by taking out a procession amid drum beats and spiritual songs Shesha Vastrams would be draped on the idols of Khairatabad and Balapur on the festival day that is September 13.
In this programme, Handloom Park directors B Lava Kumar, B Purshotham, Sita Damoder, Krishna, K Ramulu, Goverdhan, Amarender, Anjaiah, Upender, Nagarjuna and others participated.
