Barista Cafe’s illegal construction demolished
Kondapur: The unauthorised construction occupying space allotted for parking against the sanctioned plans made by Barista Cafeteria at Kondapur beside Google office has been demolished after issuing notices by the authorities. The multinational Barista Café concretised floor illegally and put a shed on the place for its customers to sit.
Even after the multistoried building housing the said café made several complaints, the Barista management ignored them and continued with construction on the stilt place without taking permissions and authorisation. It has been using the space for commercial activities brazenly, causing grave inconvenience to the inmates of the building and also to the visitors of the building. The illegal construction led to vehicles parking on the roads creating lot of traffic congestion, accidents and public nuisance at the place.
As per the regulations, the rule no 11 of zoning regulations of 1981 and regulation 12 of multistoried building regulations, 1981 and similarly under the provisions of the GHMC Act, 1955 and the rules made there under, parking space must be mandatorily provided in apartments, group housing complex, multistoried building etc., and the constructions shall be in accordance with the sanctioned plan The High Court at Hyderabad and Lok Ayukta had also pulled up the Barista management and GHMC officials and issued an order to take immediate steps towards creating parking areas to reduce traffic congestion due to parking on roads.
Also ordered closure of business premises where there are no of insufficient parking in commercial buildings. The officials directed the Barista Management directed to remove the unauthorised constructions and restore the parking spaces in stilt floor within 3 days from the date of the receipt of this notice, falling which, the GHMC would take action for demolition. The Barista management has to bear the costs incurred for demolition and for restoration of parking space.
