Human trafficking cuffs on Jagga Reddy
Hyderabad : Former Sangareddy Congress MLA Turupu Jayaprakash Reddy was arrested for involvement in human trafficking on Monday night. Addressing the media conference on Tuesday with regard to arrest of former MLA, North Zone DCP B Sumathi said the former MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy obtained Indian Passports and USA Visas by submitting fabricated documents in the name of his family members T Nirmala (wife), T Jayalaxmi (daughter) and T Bharath Sai Reddy(son) by affixing photos of others ( three unknown persons including two female and one male) from Regional Passport Office, Secunderabad and US Consulate which was used for human trafficking to gain huge money illegally.
She said the accused T Jayaprakash Reddy confessed in the enquiry that he has taken Rs 15 lakh from the agent Madhu (whom his PA introduced), Rs 5 lakh each besides expenditure incurred for accomplishing the task.
Later the accused along with his friend Jetti Kusum Kumar trafficked the three unknown persons (belonging to other State) to USA by accompanying them as his family members and dropped them at New York, USA. Later the accused along with his friend J Kusum Kumar spent for one week in New York and returned to Hyderabad. The accused has cheated the authorities of Regional Passport Office as well as US Consulate by using his official position as MLA by submitting forged documents.
The accused submitted fake bonafide certificate for his daughter T Jayalaxmi from Sri Teja Junior College, Sangareddy and showed date of birth as September 3,1987 (where as the original date of birth is July 7 1997 as per Aadhaar card) and submitted fake bonafide certificate for his son T Bharath Sai Reddy from Karuna School, Sangareddy and showed date of birth as March 5, 1989 (whereas the original date of birth is March 25,2000 as per Aadhaar card).
North Zone DCP said they have seized Aadhaar cards of all the family members and a recent family photo of the former MLA. She said a FIR was registered against the accused. Earlier Market Sub Inspector M Anjaiah has registered a suo-moto case on Monday at 8:30 hours stating that while he was in the Market police station received a reliable information that the former MLA of Sanga Reddy T Jayaprakash Reddy obtained passport in the year 2004 for himself and for three others in the name of his wife, daughter and son by affixing the photos of others from Regional Passport Office, Secunderabad and illegally transported the three unknown persons by accompanying himself to USA as his family members for making monetary benefits out of it. Immediately North zone Task Force team took the former MLA into custody and gathered all the information which substantiate their reasons to arrest the accused.
