Officials demolish illegal structures in Devendernagar
Gajularamaram: The Revenue department officials allegedly concentrated on demolition of only sheds and bamboo structures instead of illegal constructions, like rooms, in Devendernagar of Qutbullapur mandal, on Tuesday.
Revenue Inspector Sudhakar, along with his staff, pulled down unauthorised constructions in government land in Kattamaisamma locality of Devendernagar, using JCBs. They paid attention to the removal of tin sheds and partitions (‘paradalu’), showing their power on hapless residents. When local residents showed photographs of the new constructions to be demolished to the Revenue officials, they allegedly spared them claiming that they belong to relatives.
Although RI Sudhakar and VRO Rajini have told press persons that a land-grabbing case has been registered against three persons of Kattamaisammay, no steps have been taken till date against them. They are citing some excuses for their inaction, while trying to shun their responsibility. According to Sudhakar and Rajini, a land-grabbing case has been registered against Ramu and Nagaraj.
Local residents while speaking to The Hans India wonder whether the Revenue department is serious about protecting government lands. They claim that Revenue officials appear to be maintaining double standards while discharging duty, like stating something and doing otherwise. The residents demand action against officials, as per law, for allegedly supporting land-grabbers.
