KTR pokes fun at two bearded men
Hyderabad: Stating that he was happy with the ‘unethical and unholy’ alliance of the Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the State, former IT Minister and TRS leader K T Rama Rao on Wednesday said the people of the State had now got a golden opportunity to defeat the anti-Telangana forces.
Speaking in a meeting where senior Congress leader K R Suresh Reddy and Uppal leader B Laxma Reddy joined the TRS on Wednesday, he said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao could not come to the meeting as he was suffering from fever, cold and cough. The Chief Minister wanted to come but Suresh Reddy asked him not to come, said Rama Rao.
Talking on the Congress-TDP alliance, Rama Rao said, “NTR (former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N T Rama Rao) gave a call to end Congress but Chandrababu Naidu made his party into a tail party. Two bearded men have joined hands. When I saw the picture of the Congress and the TDP leaders, I felt very happy because people can now teach both parties a lesson.” Both these party leaders created obstructions in the formation of Telangana, he alleged adding that both ‘Basheerbag and Mudigonda had joined hands’.
Stating that people had clear choice to make, the TRS leader asked the people to select one of the two sides in the elections. “At one side there are ‘rabandhu’ (vultures) like Congress and other side there is a Rythu Bandhu like the TRS. It is up to the people whether they will look at Amaravati and Delhi or ‘galli’. People have clear choice this time,” said Rama Rao.
Rama Rao said that Chief Minister, within four years’ time, had washed the feet of women with water to every household. He lashed onto the Congress president for stating that he would dethrone caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. “Having a beard will not make anyone ‘Gabbar Singh’. These leaders said they were ready for elections anytime, but in the meeting with Election Commission of India, they asked why the commission was showing urgency,” said Rama Rao. He said that Chandrashekar Rao was going for early elections as he wanted to counter the false allegations of the Opposition parties seeking votes from the people.
Welcoming the Congress leader B Laxma Reddy into the party, Rao asked Uppal leaders to ensure party’s victory in their constituency. He called upon the people of Nizamabad to ensure victory of the TRS in all the nine constituencies.
During the occasion, Suresh Reddy gave a report on the irrigation sector to the Minister. He said that he prepared a report on the irrigation sector while he was the chairman of Public Accounts Committee and he was giving it to the party’s secretary general and manifesto committee chairman K Keshava Rao. Public representatives from Nizamabad district MP K Kavitha, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, MLAs and other leaders were also present.
