Swayambhu Ganesh ready for festivities

Zaheerabad: The Rejinthal Sidhi Vinayaka temple is decked up for the Ganesh Chathurdi celebration, which are beginning from Thursday. A huge number of devotees from neighbouring states of Maharashtra and Karnataka apart from both Telugu states are expected to visit the Lord during the festivities. The temple located at Zaheerabad – Beedar main road. It is about 10 Kms from Zaheerabad. This temple is run by Kanchi kamakoti authorities. The Lord is covered with Sindhoor (Vermillion) like Hanuman as he is facing south.

According to Laghubhakti epics of Marathi, history of the temple is traced back 220 years. Legend has it once a tourist named Shivaram Pantulu came here after covering many temples. He felt great tranquillity and peace here and stayed for few days in meditation. On the auspicious day of Pushyam Sudha Vidiay, he offered prayers to Lord Ganesha. Satisfied over the offerings, Ganesh appeared.

Devotees believe that the only Swayambhu idol in Telangana is growing daily. The temple chairman Rejintha Sangaiah, general secretary Alladi Narsimhulu said that several spiritual events would be organised during the celebrations.
