Collector M Hanumantha Rao instructs officials to focus on voter registration
Sangareddy: District Collector M Hanumantha Rao instructed officials to perform the duties responsibly for peaceful and event-free conduct of forthcoming elections. He was speaking at a meeting with EROs, AEROs and nodal officers in conference hall here on Thursday. He said that every official should take up the election related works on war footing. He instructed the officials to focus on voter registration and conduct sudden inspection of BROs at the field level.
He also emphasized that awareness campaigns stressing importance of voter registration be conducted through various means of publicity such as posters, skits, and hoardings. He also told authorities to focus on identification of unregistered women and handicapped and get them registered as voters. He asked officials to conduct awareness campaigns in various colleges of the district and ensure that everyone whoever is 18 years as on January 01, 2018 be registers as voters.
On Thursday, Collector himself conducted a sudden inspection of BROs who were visiting every house to collect details of unregistered voters at Pothireddypalle cross-roads. He enquired people if the entries in the electoral list have any errors. He instructed BROs to be extra careful in collecting the voter details. He said that BRO play an important role in voter registration process.
Emphasizing that vote is the foundation of democracy, he exhorted all those who are 18 years to register as voters. Voters can visit the website www.nvsp.in to check if they have vote right and can contact the respective booth level officer for getting Form 6 for registering as voters or get any further details.
