Education preservation tour organised in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Telangana Vidya Portata Committee and Telangana Vidya Parirakshana Committee jointly orgnised a 100-day “Education Presevation Tour.” Professor Haragopal flagged off the tour at Gun Park, Hyderabad after paying tributes to Telangana martyrs. As soon as the tour began, leaders of the committee, Prof Haragopal, Chakradhar Rao, Lakshminarayana and other student union leaders were arrested by Saidabad Police.
Condemning police arrests, the leaders demanded that the State government release the arrested leaders, so that the free environment is created for continuance of the tour. They alleged that the government is conniving with corporate schools and not allowing poor to get proper education.
They called people to fight against Telangana government, which, they alleged, had closed nearly 5,000 schools during its rule. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Haragopal said that people will teach government a lesson if it continues with its undemocratic and autocratic attitude.
