BJP unveils Shoebullah Khan’s statue
Khammam: Bharatiya Janata Party leaders on the occasion of Telangana Liberation Day on Monday unveiled the statue of the famous journalist Shoebullah Khan at his native place, Subledu village under Thirumalayapalem mandal in Khammam district.
A meeting was held on the occasion under the leadership of BJP State secretary Kondapalli Sridhar after hoisting the national flag by Ismail, the childhood friend of Shoebullah Khan.
Speaking at the meeting, former MLA and BJP State vice-president M Dharma Rao said it was a great honour to inaugurate the statue of Shoebullah Khan, who inspired the people of Telangana with his writings against the cruel Nizam’s rule and laid firm foundation for the liberation of Hyderabad.
It was everyone’s responsibility to tell the youth about the courage and patriotism of Shoebullah Khan who participated in the freedom fight, he added.
Sridhar alleged that the caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who promised the people of Telangana that he would celebrate September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day after the formation of separate State, reneged on his promise due the pressure exerted by MIM party and deceived the Telangana people. KCR must learn from Shoebullah Khan, who fought against cruel Nizam’s rule and for the well-being of the people of Telangana, he added.
By recognising the efforts of Shoebullah Khan, the BJP party installed his statue with the cooperation of villagers at his native place, he said. Party leaders Naresh Reddy, retired teacher Jiauddin, Habibullah Khan, T Narendar Rao, G Sathyanarayana, K Upendar Rao, B Malla Reddy, B Nagaraju, former Sarpanch Ismail, N Srinivas, Bukiya Naik, Ch Nagulu, Gopi and B Durga Rao were present.
