Infant murdered over refusal of marriage proposal

Hyderabad: Enraged over his marriage proposal being turned down by his lover’s parents, a 23-year-old man killed his lover’s nephew, a nine-month-old boy, on Sunday.  

According to police, the accused, Rathul (23), a native of Assam, working as a security guard at VJIT, Aziz Nagar, Moinabad became friends with one Manish Prithya, a native of Jharkhand, also a security guard at Sreenidhi International School, Aziz Nagar some time ago.

Soon, Rathul fell in love with Manish’s sister-in-law and put up a marriage proposal before the girl’s family. 

However, the parents of the woman rejected the proposal citing Rathul was from different State. 

Enraged over the rejection, on Saturday night, Rathul reached Manish’s home in the late night in a drunken state. 

When Rathul saw the nine-month-old child, Aditya, alone in the house, he picked up the boy and went outside. He took the child to a secluded area and bludgeoned him before hiding the child’s body in bushes. 

When police received information about the murder, they rushed to the spot and shifted the child’s body to Osmania Hospital mortuary for post-mortem. 

They also took Rathul into custody, and further probe is on. Meanwhile, reacting on the brutal incident, the Balala Hakkula Sangham members condemned the incident and demanded rigorous punishment to the accused. 

They advised the parents not to leave their children alone under any circumstances even if the persons were well known to them.
