One person, 20 sheep killed as lightning stikes

Nagarkurnool: In a tragic incident, one person and 20 sheep were killed due to lightning in Bommanpally village under Achampet mandal in Nagarkurnool district on Monday. 

According to information, Bajaru, a shepherd from Bommanpally, as usually went out with his sheep to graze them in the nearby forest region. However, in the afternoon, there was a sudden change in the climate with thunder storm.

When he took shelter under a tree along with the flock of sheep, they were struck by lightning. The villagers who reached the spot immediately shifted the body of Bajaru to the Achampet hospital, but he was declared brought dead. The Achampet police registered a case and promised compensation to the family members of Balraju.
