Dattatryeya inaugurates road works in Ramnagar
Musheerabad: Former union minister Bandaru Dattatreya inaugurated construction works for a road at Ramnagar fish market costing Rs 80 lakhs. Speaking on the occasion, the former minister said that there should not be any politics in the developmental activities. He suggested that GHMC allocate at least 25 per cent of its funds for construction of roads.
He urged the authorities to send proposals for new roads as most of the roads in Musheerabad constituency have been damaged. GHMC standing committee member and corporator Srinivas Reddy also spoke on the occasion. He said that no political leader in the past has tried to bring funds for repair of fish market road, but he got Rs 80 lakh allotted for road works after discussing in standing committee.
Meanwhile, during the programme, TRS leaders alleged that authorities concerned have not informed local public representatives about the programme, violating protocol. Corporator Srinivas Reddy had arguments with local BJP leaders in this regard. Former minister pacified the leaders and said that authorities should ensure that all the public representatives were informed as per protocol.
